One India Street Graphic Murals
THE CLIENT:
Art_Works / Utile / One India St. Boston
MY ROLE:
Lead Graphic Designer at Artists For Humanity (AFH)
THE CHALLENGE:
Leverage a series of vintage postcards of Boston to produce two 9 ft. x 12 ft. graphic murals in the public halls of the One India St. Boston development.
THE SOLUTION:
Inspired by the postcards and other highly abstract and perspective drive photography that would be seen in the space, I created a few concept directions. The first one was a more obvious collage of the full photographs of the postcards. The second was a highly textural graphic collage of the postcard scans, color correction and manipulation of the writing on these postcards. The client chose the first concept for one of the walls and the second concept for the second wall.
